"I'm... home now?"

Name:
Niteo Soloculi, birth-name unknown
Species/Breed:
Biolumiclops Dragon
Age:
Adult
Gender:
Male
Bond:
None
Color/Markings:
Grays/light browns with electric blue markings
Eye Color:
Yellow
Abilities:
Bioluminescence (emission of light from "pits" on side of body as well as the dangly thing on his head), Minor Teleportation (within 50', can go through walls, objects, etc.), Intangibility (goes incorporeal or "ghostlike", still semi-visible but translucent, and is able to pass through objects/walls, albeit he walks slower than normal), Breath weapon: water (yes, he "breathes out" globs of water), Verbal Speech
Height:
6'
Length:
10' from nose to tailtip
Personality:
Niteo is almost patently shy. He is reticent to the point of near-silence, and doesn't often share his thoughts, let alone his opinions. Lakota likes to joke that he'd sooner starve to death rather than tell someone he's hungry, but it's near enough to the truth. He is extremely intelligent, his intellect surpassing that of the Schattarneki, and is painfully aware of his extreme oddness. His single eye gives him some depth perception issues, and he often walks slowly to ensure he doesn't run into things. He remembers nothing of his homeland or his true name or history, except that there were other dragons like him there...

Lakota glanced around the corner. Nit sat several yards away, gazing into the sky through a natural flue in the cave wall. Lakota wasn't honestly sure what Nit was seeing; with his single large eye his vision was highly panoramic but unable to perceive depth or three dimensions in the same way she did. But he had evolved that way -- who knew how, exactly, his eye was wired to carry information to his brain? It was entirely possible that his species somehow used its bioluminescence to pick up on some of the spatial info that the single eye missed --

"You're thinking too much again," A tall shape whispered, coming up beside her. Another anthropomorphic wolf, this one black-furred with gray markings and long black hair, grinned toothily at the yellow-and-black wolf.

"Fie, Zehky," Lakota said, giving her lifemate a playful shove. "I feel so bad for him. I hate to say that... I know Nit doesn't want pity, and that he's as happy here with us as he could be, but still… he is lonely."

"Mmm," Zehklos said, rubbing his fuzzy chin. "And you sent him to the Abstract Destiny?"

"Yeah."

"Why is he back here, then?"

Lakota glanced at him. "What do you mean?"

"You sent him there to get synthed, Kota," Zehklos said. "Did you forget that that means he has children of a sort? And they're all back on that spaceship?"

Lakota gaped at him, and then slapped herself on the forehead with one black-furred paw. Then, without another word, she darted around the corner and hauled the pensive Nit into her arms. "Guess what," she cried to the dragon, delighted.

"What?" Nit asked, his long floppy ears swinging.

"You're going to go get one of your kids," Lakota said.

The small dragon's eye widened, and he instantly began to glow a bright, happy neon green. "May I bring home several of them?" he asked eagerly.

Lakota smiled. "We'll do our best."
